Sharjah is known for its beautiful architecture and cultural heritage. In 2010 the first Sharjah Light Festival was celebrated. An event rooted in the emirate’s cultural identity and heritage. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Sharjah Light Festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors yearly. Growing from a small spark, it is now an integral part of the emirate’s landscape. The stunning illuminations of the splendid architectural landmarks and cultural heritage of Sharjah. The event covers all of the emirate and extends to the east coast towns of Dibba, Khorfakkan, and Kalba. The event is welcomed by residents, visitors, travelers, and the local community. The Festival is a highly anticipated annual event, promoting tourism, culture, and creativity. The iconic landmarks of the emirate, such as the Sharjah Mosque, the University City Hall, the Al Majaz Waterfront, and many others can literally be seen in a new light.

The Festival is held from the 8th to the 19th of February 2023
